This highly effective and simple to use rehabilitation aid was originally designed to help stroke patients regain the motor functions required for walking. Can also be used with clients who experience balance problems due to illness or lower limb injury. Gives biofeedback through a visual display which encourages clients to recognise and correct their uneven stance. The client places one foot on either side of the black panel and centres their weight so that the red light on the display is illuminated. The client must transfer their weight from one foot to the other and then try to centre their weight again. The visual display lights up according to the amount of weight on each side of the platform, thus highlighting any problems with weight distribution so that the client and therapist can work together to improve this. Can also be used in sitting, underneath the buttocks and under palms of the hands. Includes a balance platform with positioning lines, an LED display monitor unit and instructions for use.
